You will need to set up a
connection to the Internet
Configuring Dial-up
Networking
If you do not have a Dial-up
networking icon, you'll need to install it with the following instructions:
To fix this problem:
-
Open up your Control Panel.
-
Go to Add/Remove
programs.
-
Click on the Windows Setup
tab.
-
Double-Click on
Communications. (Or select it, then click on Details)
-
Put a checkmark beside
Dial-Up Networking.
-
Click on Ok.
Configuring Dial-up
Connectoid
To establish a connection:
From the desktop with all the
icons:


-
Choose Dial-up to the
Internet.
-
Click Next.

-
Choose "I want to set up my
Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area
network (LAN)".
-
Click Next.



-
Type the User Name that
you supplied us, in the ONline Setup or if you signed up with ONline over
the phone.
-
Type the Password that
you supplied us, in the ONline Setup or if you signed up with ONline over
the phone.
-
Click Next.




-
Type in a Display name.
-
Click Next.

-
Under Incoming mail (POP3,
IMAP or HTTP) type mail.onlineisp.net. (NOTE: Rockwall residents use
mail.rockwall.net)
-
Under Outgoing mail (SMTP)
type mail.onlineisp.net. (NOTE: Rockwall residents use
mail.rockwall.net)
-
Click Next.

-
Type the User Name
(E-MAIL) that you supplied us, in the ONline Setup or if
you signed up with ONline over the phone.
-
Type the Password
(E-MAIL) that you supplied us, in the ONline Setup or if
you signed up with ONline over the phone.
-
Click Next.


From the desktop with all the
icons:

You will see this message...

-
Click on Yes.
-
Close the Network and
Dial-up Connections window.
-
Close the My Computer
window.
-
You should see this icon on
the desktop.

-
Double-click on the
Shortcut to OnlineISP icon, on the desktop to connect.
-
Make sure that the User
name and Password are EXACTLY the same as the
User Name and Password you supplied ONLine.
-
You're done! Your internet
connection will be up and running as soon as you see the two small computers
(modem icon) in the lower right corner of the screen, close to the time.
To go to the World Wide Web
(Internet) just double click on Internet Explorer
